Dating back to the late Ming Dynasty era (c. 1540 AD), the plate features a phoenix bird motif with stylized blossoms and bamboo foliage. This piece maintains a marine patina after being submerged in water for centuries before its recovery during a historical shipwreck salvage excavation.
